The Mission of Badr Ethiopia:

Badr Ethiopia believes that mankind in general is imbued with basic goodness and inalienable rights as the pursuit of freedom, justice and peace. The fulfillment of these rights requires the serious pursuit of vigilance that encompasses spiritual empowerment and social justice through mutual understandings and cooperation that will engender knowledge, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. 

In order to carry out this mission, the specific objectives of Badr shall be to:

1. Administer Da'awa (invitational) activities to Muslims and non-Muslims by teaching the true understanding of Islam through workshops, seminars, national conferences, intercultural and interfaith dialogs as well as cultural and social services.
2. Organize, direct, coordinate, and guide member chapters that are established as private associations of individuals seeking to enhance their Islamic knowledge and Ethiopian heritage through education, collaboration, communication, social networking, community awareness, public relations, publications, media relations, seminars, workshops, etc.
3. Establish the appropriate environment for Islamic worship and education through the establishment of Islamic and educational centers of activities in Badr chapters, which can be utilized to provide educational programs, instructional materials, and practical guidelines for personal and professional development in line with Islamic teachings.
4. Promote and preserve members' religious, cultural and social heritage and develop positive values through dialogue, understanding and tolerance by providing scholarly evidence and retrieval systems which will help rectify inaccurate information or written material concerning Muslim history in Ethiopia.
5. Advocate harmony and cooperation among all the members to advance the objectives of the organization and to strengthen the fraternal bond among Muslims and the greater society by coordinating educational training programs that provide Islamic knowledge and launch Islamic leadership projects such that trained members can employ their expertise in negotiations, conflict resolutions and human and voting right issues.
6. Advocate legislative and public policies for the protection of civil and humanitarian rights for Muslims and Ethiopian Muslims in particular by advancing the freedom of worship according to one's belief or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
7. Engage in developmental, health, educational projects and programs in North America and Ethiopia that will improve the lives of its citizens and thereby empower them socially and economically by establishing national Islamic institutions, cooperatives, museums, universities and banking systems.
8. Serve as a bridge between Ethiopian Muslims in the Diaspora and Ethiopian Muslims in Ethiopia by establishing institutions of integrity, youth leadership programs, sponsoring of high caliber scholars, exchanging academicians and spiritual leaders.
9. Pursue open dialogs with governments or faith-based organizations with regards to legal rights or constitutional right protection as well as pursuing intercultural and interfaith dialogs that will greatly contribute to mutual understanding, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence among diverse peoples in Ethiopia and around the world.
10. Identify with the community, society and country in which we live so that our productive contributions are not just good for Muslims but beneficial to all fellow citizens in North America or elsewhere.
